I think for the most part a lot of you comics or wanna-be comics know why you’re emails, messenger, texts and phones calls aren’t hopping. Most of you guys don’t put in the work required to get a booking. When’s the last time you supported a show, maybe chatted with a booker? Updated your social media to alert potential bookers of your availability? Been proactive in anyway to get noticed? Well, there you go. You and your jokes home again on Saturday night.

You’re passive and lazy – some of you. Sitting around waiting on gigs to fall out of the sky. I’ve been there and done that. Doesn’t work. You know what does? Take that bitching and moaning energy and USE it! Check your socials and even put it out there “Where are the shows tonight?” After about 13 useless comedians using your question for their jokes, one person or comic will let you know where a few shows may be. There you go. Get dressed, grab your jokes and head out – go meet a booker and a few new comics. You never know – you may end up with a few minutes on stage.

Here’s one for you. Do you have any upcoming shows? Post them, all of them! It works especially well on Facebook because a lot of the bookers are on there and so are potential companies that may need entertainment. Keep your social media pics updated. Make sure all of your bio info is also up-to-date. If you look like your not doing anything, I can promise you you will be treated that way.
